- The Island is approximately 23 x 13 miles with a good road network and bus service so everything is within easy access.
- A rural area but within easy distance of supermarkets and interesting local shops and amenities.
- Half of the Island is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
- The Island is surrounded by National Trust and Heritage Coastline.
- The West Wight offers a choice of amazing coastal and downland walks with spectacular views from Tennyson Monument, the Needles and the River Yar.
- Ivylands is close to an assortment of places to eat from country pubs to beachside cafes.
- Within walking distance of Tennyson Down, The Needles and Alum Bay with it’s famous coloured sands.
- Two miles from the old harbour town of Yarmouth which offers delightful individual shops and places to eat.
- In the past the Island has been home to many famous people including Queen Victoria at Osborne House, Keats at Bonchurch, Tennyson and Julia Margaret Cameron at Freshwater Bay.
